Sessions
The Sessions section is where you find in-person events happening at FundedYouth, register to attend, and keep track of your upcoming and past registrations.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”The Sessions menu has two tabs:
- Browse Events — Find upcoming events and register for them
- My Registrations — See everything you’ve registered for and manage your registrations
Your Credit Balance is always visible at the top so you know how many credits you have available before registering.
Browse Events
Section titled “Browse Events”This is where you find upcoming events happening at FundedYouth. Only events that are scheduled, active, and in the future appear here.
Searching, Filtering, and View Toggle
Section titled “Searching, Filtering, and View Toggle”Below the credit balance, you’ll see a search and filter bar with a view toggle:
| Control | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Search box | Type part of an event name to filter the list in real time. Results update as you type. |
| All Types dropdown | Filter events by type — choose Class, Bootcamp, Workshop, or Event, or leave it on All Types to see everything. |
| Grid icon (left toggle) | Switch to List View — events shown as cards, one per row. This is the default. |
| Calendar icon (right toggle) | Switch to Calendar View — events shown on a monthly calendar grid. |
The active view is highlighted in blue. When there are no events matching your search or filter, you’ll see a message: “No upcoming events available.”
List View
Section titled “List View”The default view shows each event as a card:
Each card shows:
| Detail | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Type badge | What kind of event it is — Class, Bootcamp, Workshop, or Event |
| Status badge | Whether it’s Open, Full, or you’re already Registered |
| Credit cost | How many credits it costs to register (shown in top-right corner) |
| Date and time | When the event starts and ends |
| Location | Where the event takes place (if provided) |
| Instructor | Who is leading the event (if provided) |
| Capacity | How many people can attend and how many spots are left |
Calendar View
Section titled “Calendar View”Click the calendar icon on the right side of the toggle to switch to Calendar View:
Events are displayed on a monthly grid. Each day shows colored dots for the events on that day. Click on a dot to see the full event details.
Event type colors:
Class — A group learning session with an instructor
Bootcamp — An intensive, multi-session training program
Workshop — A short, hands-on training session
Event — A general event or activity
Event Availability
Section titled “Event Availability”Each event has a limited number of spots. Here’s what the status badges mean:
Open — There are spots left and you can register
Registered — You’re already registered for this event
Full — No spots remaining — you cannot register
Registering for an Event
Section titled “Registering for an Event”To register for an event:
- Go to the Browse Events tab.
- Find the event you want to attend.
- Click the Register (X credits) button.
- The credits are deducted from your wallet and you’re registered.
The event now appears in your My Registrations tab with a Registered status.
Registration Requirements
Section titled “Registration Requirements”You can only register if all of these are true:
- The event is Open (not full, completed, or cancelled)
- The event is in the future
- You have enough credits in your wallet
- Your wallet is not frozen
- You are not already registered for the event
- You have an active membership (if the event requires one)
My Registrations
Section titled “My Registrations”This tab shows all of your event registrations — upcoming, past, and cancelled. Registrations are sorted with the newest first.
What You See
Section titled “What You See”Each registration appears as a card with a status icon, event details, and your registration status:
| Detail | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Status icon | A colored circle with an icon matching your registration status |
| Event name | The name and code of the event you registered for |
| Date and time | When the event is scheduled, plus credits charged |
| Status badge | Your current registration status (see below) |
| Cancel | A Cancel link — only visible for active registrations |
Registration Statuses
Section titled “Registration Statuses”Registered — You’re signed up and the event hasn’t happened yet. You can still cancel.
Attended — You showed up and the event is complete.
No Show — You didn’t show up and didn’t cancel in time. You will not get your credits back, and a penalty is applied on top of the credits you already spent. FundedYouth schedules instructors at least 1–2 days in advance to give them time to plan their week — when you don’t show up, that instructor’s time and preparation goes to waste. That’s why no-show penalties exist and why cancelling early matters.
Cancelled — You cancelled your registration.
Cancelling a Registration
Section titled “Cancelling a Registration”If you can’t make it to an event, cancel as early as possible. You can only cancel registrations that have a Registered status.
How to Cancel
Section titled “How to Cancel”- Go to the My Registrations tab.
- Find the event you need to cancel.
- Click Cancel.
- Read the confirmation popup carefully and confirm.
Early Cancellation
Section titled “Early Cancellation”If you cancel with enough notice (at least 1 day before the event by default), you get a full refund of your credits.
Late Cancellation
Section titled “Late Cancellation”If you cancel too close to the event (within the cancellation deadline), you’ll receive a partial refund. A penalty is applied and you lose some credits.
Cancellation Summary
Section titled “Cancellation Summary”| Timing | Refund | Penalty |
|---|---|---|
| Early (before the deadline) | Full credit refund | None |
| Late (within the deadline) | Partial refund (credits minus penalty) | Penalty credits deducted |
| No-show (didn’t cancel or attend) | No refund | Full no-show penalty applied |
Credits and Sessions
Section titled “Credits and Sessions”Registering for events costs credits from your wallet. Here’s how credits flow:
| Action | Credits |
|---|---|
| Register | Credits deducted from your wallet |
| Cancel early | Full refund back to your wallet |
| Cancel late | Partial refund (minus penalty) |
| No-show | No refund, plus additional penalty |
Important Rules
Section titled “Important Rules”- Credits are deducted immediately when you register. Make sure you have enough before clicking Register.
- Cancel early to get a full refund. The default deadline is 1 day before the event.
- Don’t no-show. If you can’t make it, cancel through the portal. No-show penalties are worse than late cancellation penalties.
- Session credits are wallet credits — the same ones you use for subscriptions and credit packs. They are separate from volunteer credits.
- One registration per event. You can’t register for the same event twice.
